- Q: How long does it take for me to get my tornado shelter installed?
A: Allow 10 days to 2 weeks for delivery of your shelter from the time you place your order.
- Q: Is there financing available?
Financing Not Availale Through Heartland, but you can set up your own financing.
- Q: Do I need a concrete slab and what are the requirements?
A: 5 inches thick with footings and it must be 6 inches wider than the footprint of your shelter.
- Q: How much does it cost me to get a tornado shelter?
It all depends on how many people you need to fit into the shelter. We've got shelters to fit a few people and ones that can house 30 person daycare center. Fill out this tornado shelter form today for more information.
- Q: How does the tornado shelter attach to the slab?
It attaches with 3/8 inch by 5 inch long concrete bolts on 10 inch centers around the perimeter of the shelter.
- Q: Can I take this with me when I move?
A. Yes. Our tornado shelters can be disassembled and reassembled at a new location. You can do it yourself or we can provide assistance for you.
- Q: Are these handicapped accessible?
A. Yes. We have a 36 inch door that meets ADA standards and can fit a wheelchair through it.
- Q: Where are your shelters built?
A. Our tornado shelters are manufactured at our facility in Weatherford TX.
- Q: Do your tornado shelters come with any kind of warranty?
A: Yes. Five year warranty on all structural material for shelters. Free panel replacement on panels damaged by a tornado. Written warranty provided with purchased shelter and is provided prior to sale upon request.
- Q: How do these tornado shelters work as a Safe Room?
A: Our doors latch from the inside to act as protection during storms as well as a way to keep intruders out.
- Q: Are your tornado shelters certified?
A: Yes. Our tornado shelters were tested at the National Wind Institute at Texas Tech and are certified to withstand forces from an EF5 tornado.
